With the collaboration of the Atlético de Madrid Football Academy, from 21 to 26 June, the Cívitas Alcalá de Henares Sports Centre will be hosting a tournament that brings together the sports and education communities under one roof, to show the power of sport to provide an education in values to children.
This sports project aimed at the youngest categories of football will bring together 760 teams and 14,000 participants to play more than 2300 games.
This huge international end of term party will feature teams from all over the world such as América de México, River Plate de Argentina, PSG Academy Florida, Juventude FC Sarilhense, FC Girondins de Bordeaux, Fenerbahçe from Turkey, Lusaka Youth Soccer Academy and Wolverhampton from England. These and many other international clubs will face the best Spanish teams in their categories.
Over six days of competition, matches will be played in 16 categories: from under-7s to under-16s, boys and girls, in addition to boys and girls under-19s categories. The competition begins on Friday 21 June with matches in the preliminary phase and groups of four or five teams competing until Monday 24 June. The top two teams from each group will play in the MADCUP Gold match, the next two in the Silver match, and the next two in the Bronze match for the last two days of the tournament, which will include the heats, semi-finals, and finals. The Gold Finals will feature VAR technology used by the Spanish Football Federation and will be broadcast on television and streamed for everyone.
