The American singer, composer and musician, Bruce Springsteen (New Jersey, 1949) showed a keen interest in music from an early age, learning to play guitar and setting up his first bands. In the 1970s, he gained popularity with his critically acclaimed album Born to Run (1975), which soon became a commercial hit. With songs like Thunder Road and Born to Run, Springsteen captured the public's attention with his unique style and poetic lyrics.
Throughout his professional career, he has released a series of hit albums that have explored a variety of musical genres, ranging from rock and folk to pop. His most noteworthy albums include Darkness on the Edge of Town (1978), The River (1980) and Born in the U.S.A. (1984). This latter album in particular has been widely recognised as one of the most influential works of the 1980s.
In addition to his success in the music industry, Springsteen has also been recognised for his social and political commitment. Over the years, he has used his music to address issues such as the working class, inequality and social justice.
